With a ranch that has existed for well over 100 years and an atmosphere of rustic charm, Vinedos Malagón offers a pristine setting for indulging in wine. The vineyards produce 4 noble varietals, Grenache being the oldest, which were planted in the 1900s. The owner, Jose Luis Malagón, continues to expand and develop his wine in this Mediterranean style micro-climate keeping it uniquely Mexican, truly a Bajan jewel in the Valle de Guadalupe.
Most of the old vines in the vineyard have been revitalized, and the introduction of Petite Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot have been added, helping winemaker Alberto Rubio produce such interesting blends of great quality, i.e.: 2006 Malagon Family Reserva, a beautiful blend of their 4 varietals that really show off the special terroir of the valley.
Vinedos Malagon isn’t only a winery, it’s a beautifully refurbished adobe bed and breakfast. Their tasting room consists of a wine bar and kitchen with amazing views of the valley. Drink some wine, stay the night in one of their four warm inviting rooms and enjoy a traditional breakfast in the morning.

Directions: From San Diego…Toll road to Ensenada. Just passed San Miguel (approx. 72 miles from San Diego) and a few miles before Ensenada, take (Mex 3) going northeast. Follow “Ruta Del Vino” signs about 17.5 miles to Francisco Zarco.
After crossing a long flat bridge over the river bed, turn left at a large white stucco pillar into the tiny village of Francisco Zarco. Continue left in front of Munoz Liquor into town. At the first stop sign turn right. About 100 meters the road will jog left and then right. Turn right into the first gate. Follow the roads towards the ranch house. Welcome to Vinedos Malagon!
